Our 40+ year old ophthalmology / optometry practice is seeking a full-time Doctor of Optometry to replace a retiring doctor. Our current optometrist has been with the practice for 20 years and is a valued colleague. Our retiring doctor has developed a well established patient base and we need someone to continue the care of those patients and to continue to build the practice.
This is a great opportunity for an established optometrist or a new graduate receiving their Doctor of Optometry degree, who can obtain licensure through the North Carolina Board of Optometry to build and grow a busy practice. This position includes a competitive salary with a bonus structure and optical revenue, as well as a strong benefits package.
We have an up-to-date EHR and all necessary ancillary and imaging equipment available in the office. Technician support is provided; all of our doctors have screeners and scribes. All of our opticians are experienced, loved in the community and offer superb customer service.
We pride ourselves on our collegial environment and excellent ethical patient care. We cannot stress this enough – you will not be a refractionist! Also, all of our surgeons see and manage their own postop patients. You will manage a self-determined mix of routine patients, contact lenses, walk-in patients and have the opportunity to care for a wide variety of ocular pathologies.
We seek a candidate who wishes to work 4-5 days a week in a busy clinical setting seeing 24-35 patients a day. All the doctors take call on an equitable basis and surgical backup is always available.

The recreational activities (hiking, mountain biking, kayaking etc.), weather and natural beauty of the area are unmatched.
