Glaucoma / Cataract Surgeon – Partnership Opportunity – Charlotte, North Carolina / Rock Hill, South Carolina
Join a thriving, physician-owned private practice offering a true path to partnership, ASC ownership and real estate ownership — with no private equity involvement.
Our busy, growing ophthalmology practice is seeking a Glaucoma / Cataract Surgeon to join our 14-doctor team serving the greater Charlotte, North Carolina and Rock Hill, South Carolina markets.
We are a well-established, independent group consisting of 6 ophthalmologists and 8 optometrists across 6 locations, with a strong patient base, excellent clinical and surgical support, and our own state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center.
This is a partnership-track opportunity, with the ability to become a full partner in the practice, invest in our ASC, and participate in real estate ownership. We are also happy to speak with physicians who prefer a long-term employed position without an ownership component.
A True Private-Practice Ownership Opportunity
If you’re looking for more than simply becoming another employed physician in a large organization, this is an opportunity to build a long-term future in a successful, physician-owned and physician-led practice. We are NOT private equity owned.
The incoming surgeon will have the opportunity for:
• Full partnership in the ophthalmology practice
• Ownership in our ambulatory surgery center
• Real estate ownership opportunities
• An established patient base and referral network
• Long-term professional and financial upside
• The autonomy and collegiality of independent private practice
The Clinical & Surgical Opportunity
The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in glaucoma and proficient in cataract surgery, premium IOLs and glaucoma surgery.
You’ll perform surgery in our own modern ASC, featuring three operating rooms and advanced surgical technology including the Ally Adaptive Cataract Treatment System with femtosecond laser, Alcon UNITY phaco system and ORA intraoperative aberrometry.
Our practice has invested heavily in technology across our locations, including:
• ARGOS and IOLMaster biometers
• iTrace
• Cassini
• Pentacam
• Latest-generation OCTs
• Anterior and posterior segment digital imaging
• Argon, YAG, SLT and diode lasers
• ERG
• Ellex vitreous laser
• TearLab and iLux
• Valeda Light Delivery System at two locations
• In-office LASIK suite
• Optical shops
We were also one of the first practices in the country to offer the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) platform, and our optometrists perform the postoperative LAL adjustments.
Our integrated EMR is available in every lane, and our physicians are supported by well-trained technicians, scribes and experienced ancillary staff, allowing you to concentrate on patient care rather than administrative tasks.
Excellent Quality of Life – The Carolinas Are Calling
We offer great work hours and a practice structure designed to give our ophthalmologists a life outside of medicine.
Our optometrists handle most primary and weekend call, significantly reducing the call burden for our surgeons.
Why Charlotte?
Charlotte offers an exceptional combination of career opportunity, quality of life and affordability and continues to be one of the Southeast’s most desirable and fastest-growing metropolitan areas.
The region offers excellent schools, attractive communities for raising a family, four distinct seasons and a cost of living that remains favorable compared with many other major metropolitan areas.
Charlotte is home to the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, Charlotte Knights and Charlotte Checkers, along with an outstanding and continually growing restaurant, brewery and entertainment scene.
For travel, Charlotte Douglas International Airport provides extensive nonstop domestic and international service.
And when you want to get away, the Blue Ridge Mountains are less than two hours away, while the beaches of North and South Carolina are approximately three hours from Charlotte.
Build More Than a Practice — Build Equity
For a glaucoma surgeon who wants excellent surgical resources and the opportunity to own rather than simply work, this is an unusually attractive private-practice opportunity.
Join a successful, technologically advanced, independent ophthalmology group where you can develop a busy glaucoma and cataract practice while building equity in the practice, ASC and real estate.
