San Francisco Region Ophthalmology Opening. Private practice with partnership and ASC shares.

Vacaville / Fairfield, California | Private Practice Ophthalmologist Opportunity.  45 Miles from San Fran!

Private Practice | Practice & ASC Ownership Opportunities

A busy clinical practice, a team that leads with kindness, and an opportunity to build toward ownership—this Northern California ophthalmology position offers compelling reasons to take a closer look.

An established private practice with offices in Vacaville and Fairfield is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board Certified Ophthalmologist to help meet growing patient demand. You’ll join a close-knit team serving a community with significant medical and surgical eye care needs, with a strong referral base and a longstanding local reputation.

For a physician who enjoys treating ocular disease, performing cataract surgery, and developing lasting patient relationships, there is meaningful work to do here—and support to help you build your practice.

A Practice Where Kindness Sets the Tone

The team describes its approach simply: begin with kindness and a smile.

The practice includes approximately 20 employees across two offices, located about 12 miles apart. Both locations have exam rooms, diagnostic technology, and optical shops.

The physicians care for patients from a broad range of economic backgrounds. Routine eye care is largely referred to local optometrists, allowing the ophthalmology practice to concentrate on medical eye disease and surgical care.

Clinical Depth, Cataract Volume & Staff Support

This is an opportunity for a physician who wants a substantial medical and surgical practice, with resources to support continued growth.

Highlights include:

  • A strong referral base and established community relationships.
  • Significant ocular pathology and an active cataract surgery practice.
  • Experienced technician and scribe support. Current ophthalmologist works with a five-person team handling patient workups, diagnostic testing, and scribing.
  • Two local multispecialty ASCs, one in Fairfield and one in Vacaville.
  • Nextech IntelleChart EMR and practice management software.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation framework includes a generous base plus productivity incentives, with no ceiling on total compensation.

Benefits include:

  • Three weeks of annual PTO.
  • Health insurance.
  • Profit sharing and a 401(k) with an employer match.
  • $3,500 annually for continuing education and professional society dues.
  • Practice-paid malpractice insurance.
  • Covered medical licensing and credentialing fees.

Opportunities for Practice & ASC Ownership

For a physician interested in ownership, the practice offers the opportunity to explore partnership in both the practice and an ASC.

Schedule & Paid Hospital Call

Current clinic hours are:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch.
  • Friday: 8 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

The practice is also open to discussing flexible scheduling.

Hospital call is shared among five local ophthalmologists across three hospitals. The current rotation amounts to approximately 10–11 weeks annually, with paid call coverage.

A Scenic Northern California Place to Call Home

Picture a Saturday morning hike through Lagoon Valley, lunch in historic downtown Vacaville, or an afternoon exploring the vineyards of nearby Suisun Valley. With scenic hills, local restaurants, and wine country close by, Vacaville offers plenty of reasons to enjoy your time away from the office.

Its location between Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area also opens the door to city outings and weekend adventures—while keeping your everyday life rooted in an established community where you can build relationships and put down roots.
